Jan 5 - High surf today cancelled our kayaking trip to the 7 sea caves of La Jolla. However, it was on our route to Malibu, so we stopped in & were able to see one cave & the pelicans that people come from all over to photograph because of their colors, & the group of pupping seals. About 50 seals, all pregnant, laying on the beach just stretching & yawning, waiting to birth in early Feb. - they have it figured out!! Both were amazing sights, not to mention the surf along the Pacific..... see pictures. Lunch in La Jolla at Hard Rock Cafe, & checking out the shops, got some great glass design ideas.
We are now settled in Malibu Beach RV Park, just above the site where BayWatch was filmed. So I expect Gerry will be pretending to be Borat, searching for Pamela along the beach tomorrow, ha! We have an ocean view site, up high on a mountainside, not much extra room on the site, view picture to follow, when we see it ourselves (arrived in the dark). We look forward to spending the weekend visiting with Noriko (our Japanese exchange student from 1992) & her friend Stephen!
